About a year ago, we began planning a remodel of our kitchen. Our house was built in the 70’s and had settled and shifted over the years so nothing is level or plumb. We found Shawn Warren of Freedom Builders & Remodelers on the Internet and called him to take a look. We are so glad we did!
From the beginning, he worked with us on finalizing our plans for our kitchen. He not only focused on the obvious – the carpentry, electrical, plumbing – but had an eye on creating a clean design that would be functional and aesthetically pleasing. Throughout the project, he kept us clearly informed of the progress and created an atmosphere of teamwork. Although he was the contractor, he always made it clear that creating the best possible kitchen was a joint project between us.
By the time the remodel was finished, it was what we had wanted and more. During the entire project, Shawn’s work ethic, attention to detail, and emphasis on quality were amazing. He is a creative problem solver who found unique ways to complete the job in a timely and financially responsible manner.
When on site, he was respectful of our property, pets, and family life – he always kept in mind that our family had to live and use the kitchen during the remodeling process and he made certain each day that we could do just that. He never left our home after a day of remodeling without cleaning up. Although he was always meticulous and precise, he never lost track of the bigger picture. We were so impressed with how he saw all aspects of the job in this way, as parts of a whole. What a rare find!
After going through the remodeling experience with Shawn, we are very aware that we chose the best contractor possible. He was easy to work with, communicated clearly throughout the project, and did the type of quality remodeling job we had dreamed of. Shawn Warren has the type of emphasis on doing a job well that is sorely missing among many professionals these days. We plan on calling him again for our future remodeling projects! Shawn was able to pick up emergency calls and provided needed service in a timely way. When my PVC vent pipe connection started leaking water into my kitchen while raining. Shawn was able to see the problem, determine why it had happened, get the correct replacement parts and fix the leak within a matter of hours. This eliminated the potential weather damage. (Rockton house)
Following Cherry Valley house:
When the water softener connections began to leak – shortly after the 90 day plumber warranty period, Shawn was able to fix the tricky PVC to copper connection. When Shawn fixed it, it stayed fixed. While Shawn was fixing the water softener, my wife and I mentioned a problem we were having with our kitchen sink. There was no splash guard and the painted surface was rapidly becoming a mess. The solution was simple. Create a tile splash guard to make cleanup much easier. Shawn used tiles that we had and in basically an hour or less, we had our splash guard. Thanks Shawn!
